OVERVIEW

The 871A Electrochemical Sensors, along with their accessories, are designed for a wide range of pH and ORP measurement applications in various industries. These sensors are compatible with Foxboro's intelligent transmitters and analyzers, ensuring high precision and reliability. They comply with all applicable European Union directives, as denoted by the "CE" marking.

• Broad Compatibility: Works with 870ITPH Intelligent Transmitters, 875PH Intelligent Analyzers, 870PH Analog Transmitters, and 873PH and 873DPX Electrochemical Analyzers.

• Innovative Measurement: Utilizes a flat glass electrode for pH measurement, featuring a double-junction, gel-filled reference electrode that provides stable and accurate readings by producing an electric potential proportional to the hydrogen ion activity.

• ORP Measurement: Measures oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) by assessing the ratio of oxidation to reduction activities. Common applications include chromate and cyanide waste treatment in plating, chemical, and metal treatment plants.

• Robust Design: The PVDF body and flat glass electrode provide resistance to chemicals and a self-cleaning action, ensuring durability and longevity.

• Automatic Temperature Compensation: Features an integral platinum RTD for accurate temperature adjustment.

• Sensor Diagnostics: Provides diagnostics when used with compatible transmitters and analyzers, detecting faults such as broken or aging glass electrodes, liquid leakage, and excessive coating on the reference electrode.

• Non-Metallic Construction: Contains no metallic wetted parts other than the gold or platinum tip in the ORP version, preventing corrosion from aggressive chemicals.
